By Francine Relencia

This is because of the wonderful games. He is extremely recognizable and there is no other character whom looks like him.

Mario has been in excellent games, but also in some truly bad games. Nintendo continues to be experimenting with numerous video game genres, from role playing games to racing video games. Some of these Mario video games failed miserably, but some where pleasantly as well as surprisingly great. So great actually that many sequels where created.

Mario Kart 64

Everybody knows that Mario Kart 64 is a racing video game that took racing games to a different level, not really the next level. Many copy cats have been created, like Sonic Drift along with a Crash Bandicoot racing games. But none of them maintain a candle to the Mario Kart video games. Mario Kart 64 is one of those games that you can have fun with your family or even at a party. It is easy to get into and start actively playing.

This game has everything you would like, crisp video effects, lovable sound effects and excellent gameplay. Many gamers where introduced to gaming because of this game. It is a double edged sword, because after playing this game everything that you play will be compared to Super Mario World.

Mario 64

Somehow Nintendo keeps innovating, because when the jump from 2D to 3D occurred, Mario again elevated the bar for Three dimensional platform video games with Mario 64. The controls, level design, graphics, camera control, and much more is what makes this game a classic. It was also a long game with many secrets as well as Easter eggs inside it.

A great aspect of Mario games is that the creators are able to take the exact same characters, but are able to expand into different genres such as, tennis or even racing as well as totally dominate and get new fans in the process. There have been failures to, of course, but Mario will never be remembered for those as he has literally altered the video game industry as well as controls his own destiny.

So what is next for our chubby plumber having a big moustache? Only Nintendo and Shigeru Miyamoto know, nevertheless, you can imagine that it will always be something innovative and intensely fun for not just young kids but also youngsters and adults.
