Basic Star Wars: The Old Republic strategies can be found below.

Classes of the Republic

Trooper: The basic soldier class of the game, Troopers use heavy firepower and specialized squads to overpower enemies. Use the Trooper's heavy armor and powerful weapons to your advantage in overpowering your opponents.

Jedi Consular: The Jedi Consular complements the Jedi Knight. Consulars are better with Force-based techniques, whereas Knights specialize in lightsaber combat more than anything else. The Consulars are the wise sages of the Republic, using their wisdom, knowledge, and meditation to out-think their enemies.

Smuggler: A master of stealth and surveillance, it isn't too far of a stretch to call smugglers the scout class of the game. Best at indirect combat, you won't want to use this class in open combat, stick to the shadows instead.

Jedi Knight: Jedi Knights have the Force as their ally, making them one man armies through the masterful use of close combat via a lightsaber and offensive Force abilities. Larger groups of enemies can be overwhelmed through their advanced Force powers and quick agility.

Sith Empire Classes

Bounty Hunter: High-tech weaponry and specialized gadgets are the hallmark of this class. Other than the Sith Warrior, they are often the best choice in combat again Jedi Knights. The Bounty Hunter sometimes engages in seemingly bizarre tactics, making them useful for unexpected attack plans.

Sith Inquisitor: Less aggressive and more withdrawn than the Sith Warriors, this class specializes in dark-side powers much like the Consular specializes in light-side powers. Beware their efficient use of Force Lightning and stay your distance.

Imperial Agent: Stealth is your friend. The dark counterpart to the Smuggler, Agents are shadowy fiends that assassinate their enemies with quick, powerful attacks.

Sith Warrior: The Sith Warrior complements the Jedi Knight on the dark side, with its brutally efficient hand-to-hand combat skill with a lightsaber.

With these class specializations, try to keep in mind what your class was designed for and use it to develop successful strategies in this huge online world.
