The Enemies Found In Battlestar Galactica

By Cathy E. Dach

The science fiction characters and stories of Battlestar Galactica have been quite popular for many years and have spanned television, video games, and novels. The characters were first introduced to fans back in the late 1970's when the original series was first released on television. The popularity of the series has grown massively since that time and now people all over the world are able to enjoy the latest television shows and games based on it. The fact that BG has had a chance to move into the gaming world is particularly interesting; game designers have included the majority of the key characters and creatures that are already familiar to fans of the series. What are some of the main features of these video games and what makes them unique in the modern gaming world?

Humans have been permanently removed from their home planet by the Cylon in the main story of Battlestar Galactica; they must now search for a home amongst war. The BG game follows this concept with a design that separates players and computer characters into one of these two factions. You can either be a Cylon or a Human at the start of the game; the choice is yours when making a character. Remember that the faction you go with will have a direct impact on the way your character develops skills, the weapons you will gain access to, and the parts of the gaming world that you will be able to visit safely.

Most of the fights in your Battlestar Galactica game will pit you against either the Humans or the Cylon, depending on which side you have chosen to go with. At times you will find other enemies that are common threats to both factions. Battles will sometimes be waged in space using high speed vehicles while others take place on land using hand to hand combat techniques and weapons.

Internet games based on the BG characters and stories allow for a lot of social interaction so be sure to take advantage of these game features. You may have developed a strong character, but that does not mean that you can go it alone in this game; teaming up with other players is essential during many key battles.

Battlestar Galactica video games give fans of this serial franchise a new manner of enjoying the series. You can get into the war as either Human or Cyclon in a thrilling and social online game based around BG.
